Belglass, a Beau-Frère à Louer division, offers installation and rental of window and portable air conditioners for residents of Montreal, Laval, and the North Shore. Whether you have your own unit or want to rent one for the season, our team ensures a safe installation tailored to your window type. We also handle uninstallation at the end of summer — no more wrestling with screws and screen doors.
What we do for you

How it works
1. Get in touch — Tell us whether you have your own AC or want to rent one, and the type of windows you have. We give you a firm project price including travel.
2. We deliver and install — Our technician arrives with the necessary equipment, installs the unit safely, and makes sure it's running properly before leaving.
3. We pick it up at the end of summer — Uninstallation is included in the service. We come back in the fall, pick up the unit — and you no longer have a bulky box to store.
Frequently asked questions
Which air conditioner do I need?
8,000 BTU for a single room or bedroom · 12,000 BTU for a small apartment or open area · 14,000 BTU for a larger space.
Portable or window unit?
We recommend the portable unit: the service is simpler (we just swap the unit, without touching the window), there's no risk of damaging the window, and the installation is safer. We offer a 6,000 BTU window unit on request only.
Does the rental include installation?
Yes — delivery, installation AND fall removal are all included. Everything is paid at installation.
How long is the rental period?
The summer season, from May to mid-October (return on October 15).
Are there any accessory fees (plexiglass, eco-fees)?
Depending on your window, a plexiglass panel — cut to size on site — may be needed: about $50 for a sliding or single-hung window, $85 for a crank (casement) window. IMPORTANT: you must KEEP your plexiglass from one season to the next; if you no longer have it, it will be re-billed. Eco-fees (based on the unit's BTU) are also added to each rental. For a first installation, other accessories may apply — confirmed at the visit.
What if I already have my own air conditioner?
We can simply install it (installation package, without rental).
Need a short-term unit or backup (e.g. my heat pump breaks down)?
